AN EVOLVING AMERICAN ESTATE

SOUTHPORT \ CONNECTICUT

This historically significant Southport property was reimagined to honor its Georgian Revival heritage while supporting contemporary family life, creating a landscape that bridges past and present. A sequence of bluestone paths and restored stone walls guides arrival through layered hedges, perennials, and outdoor rooms framed by hornbeam, azalea, and massed boxwood. Mature trees anchor the site’s sense of place, while a new pool environment—defined by flower borders and a restored, historically inspired fence—introduces structure and rhythm through sculpted parrotia and hornbeam. Across 4.5 acres, the design transitions from formal garden spaces to a more open, pastoral landscape, reflecting the enduring legacy and evolving character of the property.
