Located in the Catskill Mountains, this weekend retreat home provides unparalleled views and outdoor adventure opportunities. For this renovated home, the owners wanted outdoor space for entertaining as well as a garage and parking that was tucked into the landscape so that it preserved the viewsheds. The terrace space and areas around the residence were designed to embrace the views over the valley to the adjacent mountains and meadows. The plant design included a fully native pallet of meadow grasses, perennials, ferns, and trees. The garage and parking areas were designed with the intent to reflect the local vernacular and to be nestled into the landscape, hiding the utilitarian needs. The overall landscape plan reflects the natural beauty of the site and includes borrowed views from the surrounding environment.
