FAMILY HOMESTEAD

GREENWICH \ CONNECTICUT

This project represents a sustainable and productive homestead for a multi-generational family to inhabit and enjoy. Complete with extensive vegetable and flower gardens, an apple orchard, a renovated pool and new spa, extensive outdoor living areas, and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen and outdoor shower, the landscape provides for cultivation, sustenance, recreation, and leisure in a setting of lush horticultural diversity. Set on two acres in suburban Connecticut, the rectangular property slopes dramatically lengthwise with a change in grade of more than 20 feet. A primary and secondary dwelling sits on each end at roughly the same elevation with the main recreation and working garden areas between them. These central garden areas between the main house and the parent’s residence serve as the focus of family life.
