With shimmering Long Island Sound views and over 250 feet of direct waterfront frontage, this new home and property was designed to maximize panoramic views of the water and the family’s use of the property.
Garden spaces were developed to complement the architecture, provide a clear sense of arrival, spaces for entertainment and gardens for viewing from within the house. The permitting process dictated that native plants were incorporated waterside, and this became a beautiful planting of maritime shrubs and native meadows. This mitigation planting served to protect the natural ledge outcroppings and offer a habitat for coastal wildlife.
This property exemplifies how layered planting, restrained detailing, and thoughtful spatial planning can support a rich family life without sacrificing design integrity.
